Fans of David Archuleta in Singapore

A special announcement to tell everyone at the Salt Lake City show during the My Kind of Christmas Tour.

I think everyone would have watched this by now and know what David’s special announcement is about.

I was at Nex with my friends when I took my friend’s phone to come onto twitter and I saw his video. I’m not too sure what was the first thing I felt but I felt sad, but happy for David at the same time. (I’m going to have a hard time putting everything into words omg. I apologize in advance.)

It seems like him leaving Jive (to me at least) again. Remember that vlog? He told us to follow our gut. And he’s following it now and staying true to himself. Making such a decision is definitely not a easy one, especially for David, when he has a career, family and fans to be concerned about. Not everyone can make such an important decision. David is truly special.

One of the main reasons that I became a fan in the first place was that his personality captured me. This video reminded me of this reason again. His heart. His love. His courage. There is so much we can learn from him and I think it is safe to say that he inspired us all.

Watching that video, I can tell (I think we all can lol) how much he appreciates us fans. His tears are proof. The applause he got during his announcement and my timeline on twitter showed me that this relationship goes both ways. I can’t imagine what my life would be like if David didn’t existed in it. Maybe I’d be better off (I seriously doubt so), but I’m glad that I’m blessed to be a fan of his.

So David, the next 2 years may be unbearable and a definite drought for us, but we will always be here for you. No matter where you are, what you’re doing, we’ll support you. I don’t know how but we will. :)

To follow our feelings.. I am hungry and I think I will end this post before I turn this into a reflection on the year. I feel so emotional writing this. It’s the good kind of emotion – happy, proud, new found respect, inspiration, motivation and so on. Let’s heed David’s advice and follow our guts. Don’t get pulled down by obligations.

2 years.. It’s not very long. I’m sure he’ll return with many interesting stories at the end of it. ;)
