April 2009

This is a recap of what happened in April 2009, the month David visited Singapore and performed at the Iluma Mall. Let’s relive the experience and pray that it happens again!

Weiyan is known in DASG as someone who is very passionate and enthusiastic about David. She shares :

Hi there. On April 2009, I gave my mother a fruit cake for her birthday. But that’s not the point.

DAVID ARCHULETA CAME TO SINGAPORE. (AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!)
The nicest guy on Earth flew all the way from Utah to a little dot. WHAT ARE THE ODDS. He even decided to perform for us FOR FREE haha! It was a free showcase at the Iluma Mall (:

We were at Sal’s place when we received the confirmation news about his coming here. This was our reaction. It was priceless.

A couple weeks later…….David Archuleta arrived in Singapore

So, he arrived on the 5th of April, around 1.30am.

Quite funny huh, who wears a hoodie + scarf + super thick clothing in Singapore. Haha, nah.

It was “snowing in Utah” when he left. He mentioned that it was “white, and cold.”

Then that poor boy, who was probably still suffering from major jet-lag, had such a busy schedule the next day.

4pm – 98.7 FM: The Shan & Rozz Show.
5pm – 91.3 FM: The Married Men ( Our very own Salamahafifi & Sheryl were invited!)
6pm – 93.3 FM: A Chinese radio station wanted David to be on. I was confused too.

David at 987FM studio being spoon fed Lemak Chilli Padi, a Malaysian dish:

David at 91.3FM studio scaring Sheryl HAHAHAH.

annnnddd, I have no footage of him at 933FM studio baha. He did try speaking some Mandarin though!

Da ja hao, wo shi da wei.

(English: Hello everybody, I’m David!)

7TH APRIL!

Showcase Daaay! I skipped school for him baha. Well, he IS David Archuleta. Of course I had to.  (Even though he probably would have given me a long long lecture if he found out, but, shh.) So, eventhough I skipped school, I woke up at 7am. He was on Channel News Asia!

When I reached the Iluma Mall, at around 11.30 am, there were already some people at the line! Wowwwzzaaahs. Singapore fans ftw! \o/ 7 hours til the performance starts. So, what did we do? CHEERRRRRR!

Seriously, are we not awesome enough for you? And that was only part of the line! Okay, I think it sounds a bitttt like we’re saying “Singapore loves David ArchuTELA!” HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Some people were lucky enough to have a meet and greet session with David right before the performance too! Heh heh, and I was one of them! (Well, when you call in the radio station with 5 phones, the chances of winning get higher lol.)

He was so nice, really. Even though I thought he looked quite different in person. His skin is so much whiter! And he glows! And I got a hug, YAY. David Archuleta is not soft and cuddly at all. (Hmm, the red squiggly line appears when I type Archuleta. ABSURD. Okay, Archuleta is now added into the dictionary.)

Anyways, I came out of the room crying lol. David makes girls cry. It was embarrassing, but obviously I didn’t care. The world just disappears when you’re here~

Check out the crowd!

Notice the second storey too ;D and the building had four stories. Every storey was PACKED WITH PEOPLE. Yes, Singapore was VERY VERY excited. Unless some people, being a typical Singaporean, just crowded around to see what’s going on. Haha, nah I’m kidding.

Everyone was attracted to The Archuleta.

He sang 4 songs (: Touch My Hand, A Little Too Not Over You, A Thousand Miles and Crush.

Touch My Hand

ALTNOY

A Thousand Miles

(There’s a comment on this video, “David, your voice is so smooth as your skin.” HAHAHA. True that.) (Oh, and I love the making my way through the crrrrowdd ♥)

Crush

Yay, he seemed really happy! (: I’m glad we made him happy, because he definitely made us happy too! That night, even though some of us lost our voices and cried in public for the first time, it was all worth it. Well, duh lol. Some people got hugs, some people got to touch his hand (pun intended) and all of us got to meet the nicest guy in the world! And even hear him sing! Aww, what more could you ask for, really. <3

8th April! DASG’s private meet and greet! Well, I didn’t go but I’ve heard some funny stories haha.

Okay, this one’s from

Rachel. -Rachel walks up to David-
(idk what happens here but they probably said hi or something lol)
-Rachel takes out a Pooh bear and passes it to David-
David: “Ohhh, is this for me?-takes pooh bear-
Rachel: “Uhhh, no. It’s for you to sign on.
David: “Ohhh…-embarrassed face-

HAHAHAHAHAAHA. Idk if you found that funny, but I was laughing my head off when I first heard it lol. Okay, so we all know Singapore loves David. And well, THE LOVE IS MUTUAL. YAAAAAY. David’s shoutout to Singapore :D

Uhm, he didn’t exactly say “I LOVE SINGAPORE” but I’ll take the fact that he wants to come back as love lolol.

After phototaking and signings we showed him a video we made:

His reaction was precious.

He also told Sal that he visited this very website! -gasps-

After that, HE LEFT FOR MALAYSIA ))))):

Ain’t no sunshine when he’s gone. It’s not warm when he’s away. Ain’t no sunshine when he’s gone And he’s always gone too long anytime he goes away.

Haha, nah. David left us with happy memories that we visit everyday. (Well, at least I do haha.) DAVID! SINGAPORE LOVES YOU ♥

- Weiyan! :D
